Ededya Assefa

Mr. Ededeya received his MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Scotland and a BA degree in Management and Public Administration from Addis Ababa University. After serving as a Management Trainee at the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, he joined Shell in 1998. He worked with the company for over a decade, assuming a variety of roles in Ethiopia, Africa and Asia Pacific, including that of Sales Representative and Retail Network Development Manager for Ethiopia. 

In 2003, Ededeya was expatriated to Malaysia to work as Brand Manager for Shell Malaysia and Singapore. In this role, he  served as a custodian of the Shell brand, closely working with global brand and advertising agencies such as J. Walter Thomson, One 4 One and others. While in Malaysia, he also managed Shell’s Loyalty Program called BonusLink, a popular loyalty program that enjoyed a membership of over 4 million. 

Upon repatriation, Ededeya worked for Shell Oil Products Africa as Regional Training Manager for East and South East Africa. In his role, Ededeya was responsible for competence and leadership development of over 100 shell staff in the region through a structured process of competence assessment, gap identification, program development and execution of learning interventions. He has attended and facilitated a number of local, Pan-African and global management and leadership development courses. Upon takeover of Shell Ethiopia by Oil Libya Holdings Limited, Ededeya also worked as Retail Manager, where he was responsible to manage the overall operation of the company’s retail business in Ethiopia.
